ISPM 12 provides the framework for official phytosanitary certificates. Shipment documentation must be checked against the destination’s requirements; a general sourcing guide cannot establish market access for a specific consignment.
- Give the importer or broker the product identity, origin, condition and destination.
- Ask them to confirm admissibility and any applicable permit, treatment or certificate requirements.
- Agree size, packing, quantity, shipment timing and the named delivery place.
- Check that product and party details are consistent across the proposed shipment documents.
From buying brief to order approval
1. Define the bulb specification
State the requested type, bulb-diameter range, measurement method and permitted variation. Include crop-year preference, trimming and appearance requirements. Use a reference photograph to clarify the description.
2. Set the packing basis
Specify loose bulbs, retail mesh packs or another requested format. Record unit net weight, units per outer pack and outer-pack net weight separately. Add label artwork and receiving limits where applicable.
3. Compare offers on the same basis
Check type, diameter, crop information, product condition, pack weight and quantity across offers. Record the named destination, delivery term, proposed timing, payment conditions and quotation validity before comparing the total.
4. Keep the approval record with the order
Request representative lot and packing photographs, then agree the written acceptance criteria. Confirm the proposed quantity and packing schedule. Ask the importer or broker to check destination requirements for the specific product and origin.
Questions before requesting a quote
Is the cheapest price always a comparable offer?
Only compare after checking the same product, size range, net weight, packaging, quantity and delivery terms. Differences in these details can make headline prices misleading.
What does a garlic origin name confirm?
An origin name is sourcing context. Ask for the actual supplier, packing location and lot information for the proposed order; the place name alone does not verify an individual consignment.
How do I request a garlic quotation?
Use the inquiry form to send type, size, crop preference, packing, quantity and destination. Include reference images by following up through email or WhatsApp; the form itself does not accept attachments.

Keep units and included costs consistent
If an offer gives a total amount, divide that amount by the stated total net kilograms to compare the quoted amount per net kilogram. This only helps when the product specification and included services also match. Do not add a charge again if it is already included. Ask your logistics provider or broker to confirm any missing destination costs before comparing delivered totals.
