How garlic size and grade work
UNECE FFV-18 measures bulb size by the maximum diameter of its equatorial section. In its 2023 edition, the minimum is 45 mm for Extra Class and 30 mm for Classes I and II. These are reference-standard thresholds, not our available size range.
A size description should also state the permitted range within the package and the tolerance. Diameter alone does not establish the quality class.
